I’ve been karting for over two decades, with experience across Rotax and IAME-powered race karts as well as SODI and KnK rental fleets on multiple tracks in India and abroad. Based on that, I’d currently rate JR Karting Warissa Estate a solid 4 out of 5 stars. What immediately stands out is that this is the largest and professionally laid-out track in North East. Unlike the usual “parking lot with tyre barriers” setups, this is a proper circuit—complete with kerbs, grass sections, and runoff areas. The track has a very natural flow, and it genuinely feels like something designed for driving rather than just rental fun. They operate KnK karts, and the current Level 1 fleet includes four variants: three single-seaters (child kart, and options with and without seatbelts) along with a twin kart. However there is noticeable variation in engine performance between karts—some are quite slow, to the point where I could run an entire 10-minute session flat-out without needing to brake. On the better karts, however, the experience improves significantly, with just a slight lift required on corner entry to keep things tidy. To their credit, the staff are friendly and responsive—if you come into the pits with feedback, they’ll quickly try to switch you into another kart. The Level 2 karts are reserved for members and more experienced drivers clocking sub 57 seconds in full layout- which is absolutely the right approach. They’re significantly faster and could be dangerous in inexperienced hands. In terms of facilities, the place is well thought out. There’s ample parking, a locker facility, and overall the setup feels organised and welcoming. Pricing is ₹700 for the half track and ₹1000 for the full track. I’d strongly recommend skipping the half track—it’s just not worth it. You miss out on the high-speed section and some genuinely fun hairpins, which are the highlights of the layout. The full track is absolutely worth the extra ₹300 and gives you the complete experience the circuit is meant to offer. The one major downside—and the reason it loses a star—is the lack of a functioning timing system. The karts are equipped with transponders, but they’re switched off unless there’s an event. While I understand it helps them with faster turnaround and cost-saving, as a paying customer—especially someone serious about karting—it’s disappointing to have no lap time data at all. That’s a big part of the experience missing. Overall, this is a serious step forward for karting in the region.
